Description
This Juniper has been carefully sculpted to remove the bark from a section of the trunk by using a Bonsai technique known as ‘Shari’. This technique can greatly enhance a bonsais character by creating a ‘deadwood’ look. On this specimen approximately half the bark has been removed, exposing the wood inside, while the other half of the bark has been left to carry water and nutrients around the tree, keeping the Juniper alive. Presented on this natural stone base, completed with a mound covered in moss and wild stonecrop, this amazing piece really gives a rugged, mountainous feel.
This 14 year-old specimen was grown by our very own Andrii Marynch, who has been with us here at Caragh Nurseries for the past 2 years keeping all of our specimen bonsais and trees in the best shape.
