Description
Here we have another miniature bonsai form, specially grown by Andrii who has been with us here at Caragh Nurseries for the past 2 years. Andriis patience and attention to detail has sculpted this 7 year old Juniperus communis into this compact specimen using the ‘Moyogi’ bonsai technique.
Moyogi, also known as ‘Informal Upright’, is a technique used to create slight curves in the trunk of the specimen, which gives the impression of natural shaping by natures elements. Another feature of this technique is alternative branch placement as they ascend up the trunk, resulting in a beautifully balanced look which can be observed here with this Juniper specimen. Another deadwood style can also be observed here – the ‘Jin’ technique involves removing the bark from the side branches so all that remains is the hardwood beneath. A lot of patience needed indeed!
