Description

Athyrium ‘Lady in Red’ is a clump-forming deciduous fern that is extremely tolerant of deeply shaded areas, making it perfect for underplanting in woodlands areas, beds under tree canopies and north-facing gardens. The fronds are soft and delicate, light green in colour, and contrast beautifully with the burgundy-red stems, which become more vibrant after each year of dormancy. In order to prevent the fronds from breaking or scorching, it is best to shelter from winds and plant in semi- to full-shade. Its height and spread is approx 60-90cm.
