Description

Pistacia lentiscus, commonly known as the Mastic Tree, is an evergreen shrub or small tree native to the Mediterranean region. It features aromatic, leathery green leaves divided into multiple pairs of leaflets, creating a dense, bushy appearance. This drought-tolerant plant thrives in well-drained soils and full sun, making it well-suited for coastal and Mediterranean-style gardens. It produces small reddish flowers on male plants and brownish-green flowers on female plants, which bloom in late spring to early summer. If pollinated, these flowers develop into small, round fruits that transition from red to black as they mature
