Description
Acer carpinifolium or hornbeam maple, is a small deciduous tree native to Japan. With leaves better resembling the hornbeam, unlobed with serrated margins. Though like all Maples they give a beautiful display of Autumn colours with leaves turning bright yellow. Fully hardy in the Irish climate, it will tolerate most soil types but prefers it to be slightly moist. Suitable to both shaded and full sun areas. About 10 meters at maturity and with an attractive fan shaped habbit, these multistem specimens are perfect for small and medium urban gardens.
