Description
Weigela florida Variegata is a beautiful spring-flowering deciduous shrub, with brightly coloured grey-green leaves with white edges. The variegated foliage contrasts beautifully with its pale-pink flowers, produced in April-May on long arching stems. It is a very tough, hardy shrub that will grow in most soil types, providing the soil is well-drained. It loves a full sun position, but will also tolerate some dappled shade. It can grow up to a height of about 2m with a similar spread. If pruning is required, this is best done in early-mid summer, just after flowering, as if it is pruned too late in the season it might mean it won’t flower too well the following spring.
