Description

Ophiopogon is a genus of evergreen, clump forming perennial grass-like plants that originate from around tropical asia, appearing to have quite tufted foliage which grow from short rhizomes. Tiny flowers appear in summer on short stems that emerge on scapes just above the foliage. Occasionally, gloss coloured berries form after the flowers. ‘Hosoba’ is a specific japanese selection of the original ‘Kokuryu’ or ‘Nigrascens’ which has more slender and darker upright foliage.
