Description
Olearia haastii is a dense, evergreen shrub with small glossy green leaves that have a greyish underside. In summer, white daisy-like flowers with yellow centres are produced in clusters. It is an ideal plant for low coastal hedges, as it is very tolerant of wind and coastal exposure. Its compact form and slow to medium growth rate means that it maintains a neat shape, even if left untrimmed. It will work well in most gardens in a sheltered spot, but should avoid planting in areas exposed to cold, drying winds. Max height 2-2.5m with a similar spread, but can be easily managed by pruning.
