Description

Miscanthus sinensis ‘Flamingo’, commonly known as Chinese silver grass, is a deciduous ornamental grass with graceful, arching foliage and delicate, feathery flower plumes. It forms a dense, upright clump, reaching heights of 1.5 to 1.8 meters, with narrow, strap-like green leaves that feature prominent white midribs. In late summer, it produces soft pink, slightly pendant flower spikes, which gradually turn silvery white as they mature, providing long-lasting seasonal interest. The foliage transitions to warm golden-orange tones in autumn, adding vibrant colour to the landscape. Thriving in full sun and moderately fertile, well-drained soils, it is drought-tolerant once established and works beautifully in borders, prairie-style plantings, and coastal gardens. With its elegant movement in the breeze, ‘Flamingo’ brings a dynamic and textural element to any outdoor space.
