Description
Hamamelis ‘Pallida’ is a form of witch hazel that produces beautifully fragrant butter yellow flowers with dark brown centres in very early spring. Like other Witch Hazels, they are one of the earliest plants to flower, starting from early-mid January. The unusual flowers emerge long before there is any sign of foliage growth, meaning the showy display can be easily admired in the garden.
‘Pallida’ is considered to be a large shrub, or small to medium tree, and so is the perfect fit for a garden of any size, as it won’t ever grow too big or impede too much on space. It is a very hardy plant that will preform best in full sun to semi-shade, and prefers the slightly more acidic soil conditions, and so should be planted into ericaceous soil. Ultimate height and spread is approx 2.5m-4m.
