Description
A deciduous to semi-evergreen male fern that thrives in damp woodland shade, or any other shaded habitats. From mid-spring, interesting long-arching fronds emerge with an unusual, skeletal-like appearance that can add a beautiful mid-green contrast to beds when mixed in with other shade loving perennials, such as Hostas, Hellebores, or Astrantia. If mass-planted, this fern can create a fabulous woodland effect under the cover of deciduous trees, as its clumping habit means it will gradually spread to provide good summer coverage over the ground below. Max height approx. 1.2m, with a similar spread.
