Description
Agapanthus Double Diamond ‘RFDD’ is a compact, elegant agapanthus with pure white double flowers that give it a fuller, more luxurious look than the standard forms. The flower heads are clean and bright, held neatly above the foliage on strong stems, making it a very useful plant for pots, patios, and sunny borders. It has a smart, refined look and brings a bright note to summer planting without needing much attention.

Planting:
Plant in spring into well-drained soil or a free-draining compost if growing in containers. Choose a sunny, sheltered spot for the best flowering. In pots, make sure drainage is excellent.
Watering:
Water regularly while establishing. Once settled, it copes reasonably well with dry spells in the ground, but container-grown plants need regular watering through summer.
Feeding:
Feed in spring and again in early summer with a balanced fertiliser to support growth and flowering. Potted plants benefit from regular feeding during the growing season.
Seasonal Care & Tidy-Up:
Remove spent flower stems after flowering. Leave the foliage in place until it dies back naturally, as it continues feeding the plant. A light winter mulch can help in colder areas.
Division (to keep plants vigorous):
Divide only when plants become congested. Agapanthus generally flowers best when left in place for a few years.
Pests & Problems:
Usually very reliable. Poor drainage is the main thing to avoid, especially in winter. Slugs may damage young growth in spring.
Design Notes:
A good choice for containers and sunny borders where a clean white flower colour is wanted. It pairs well with grasses, lavender, and other summer perennials, and works especially well in modern or formal planting schemes.
