Description

Acer palmatum ‘Orange Dream’ is a beautiful Japanese maple with a naturally graceful habit and a more spreading, faster-growing form. Its delicate orange-green foliage brings a lovely brightness to the garden, standing out beautifully against deeper, traditional planting tones. As the seasons change, the leaves turn to soft yellow in autumn, giving the tree a second moment of interest later in the year.

Growing to around 3 metres tall with a similar spread, it makes an ideal specimen tree for adding colour, elegance and structure to the garden.

Planting:
Plant in spring or autumn in a sheltered position with moist, well-drained soil. Japanese maples prefer a spot where they are protected from strong winds and harsh afternoon sun.

Watering:
Water well after planting and during dry spells, especially in the first couple of years while the tree is establishing.

Feeding:
A mulch of compost or leaf mould in spring will help support healthy growth and keep the soil in good condition.

Seasonal Care & Tidy-Up:
Minimal pruning is needed. Simply remove any dead, damaged or crossing branches in late winter if required.

Pests & Problems:
Generally trouble-free when planted in the right position with good drainage and shelter.
