Description
The 3′ Cross Top Border Fence Panel is a smart, practical way to define a garden space without closing it in. The low height marks out borders, beds and boundaries, while the criss-cross top adds a traditional, decorative detail that looks right in cottage-style and country gardens.
The green finish blends naturally with planting and lawn, so the panel looks part of the garden rather than an addition to it. It also makes a lovely backdrop for climbers, roses and sweet peas, which can weave through the cross top.
Neat, traditional and quietly useful, it gives the garden a tidy edge.

Preparing the Site:
Mark out the line of the fence with string and set your posts first, checking they are level and evenly spaced to suit the panel width. Leave a small gap between the panel and the ground to help prevent rot.
Fixing:
Fit the panel between the posts and secure it firmly with suitable screws or fixings, checking it is level as you go. Set the posts in concrete or post supports for a long-lasting, stable fence.
Caring for the Finish:
Timber moves naturally with the weather, and the colour will soften over time. Re-treat with a suitable fence treatment every one to two years, ideally in dry weather. Apply it to a clean, dry surface for the best result.
Seasonal Care & Tidy-Up:
Check posts and fixings after winter storms, and brush off leaf debris and moss. Keep soil, mulch and compost from piling against the base of the panel, as constant damp shortens its life.
Pests & Problems:
Damp is the main enemy of any timber fence. Good drainage, a clear gap at the base and regular treatment keep rot at bay. Sticking to the recommended treatment avoids harming nearby plants.
Design Notes:
A 3′ border panel is perfect for front gardens, dividing a vegetable plot from a lawn, or edging a flower bed. Plant climbers such as clematis, honeysuckle or sweet peas at the base and let them weave through the cross top. Pair with green hedging, lavender or box for a classic cottage look. Its low height keeps views open and still gives a clear boundary.
