There’s something deeply satisfying about planting a tree that already commands presence. While younger saplings hold their own promise, a mature specimen tree transforms a garden overnight—offering instant structure, established character, and that sense of permanence we all crave when creating outdoor spaces that truly feel like home.
We’re thrilled to share that our lifting season is now in full swing, and we’re delivering these magnificent trees countrywide across Ireland. Whether you’re a homeowner dreaming of a statement tree or a landscaper working to tight project timelines, our current selection of mature rootballed specimens offers something truly special.
The Stars of Spring: Ornamental Cherries
Prunus ‘Snow Goose’
If you’re after a tree that stops people in their tracks each April, look no further than Prunus ‘Snow Goose’. Available in 18-20cm girth, this cultivar produces clouds of pure white blossom that seem to glow against spring skies. The upright, vase-shaped habit makes it ideal for formal gardens or as a focal point in a lawn, and it’s perfectly suited to Irish conditions—thriving in our temperate climate without fuss.
Why we love it: The blossom display is breathtaking, but it’s the elegant form and manageable size that make Snow Goose a garden favourite year-round.
Prunus ‘Tai Haku’ (Great White Cherry)
For those seeking drama on a grander scale, Prunus ‘Tai Haku’ delivers in spades. We currently have an exceptional range of sizes—from 18-20cm girth right through to magnificent 35-40cm specimens. The Great White Cherry earns its name with some of the largest white blossoms of any flowering cherry, each bloom reaching up to 6cm across. Paired with coppery-bronze young foliage, the effect is simply stunning.
Garden notebook: Our larger girth specimens (30cm+) are already mature enough to create an instant focal point. Imagine a tree that looks like it’s been in your garden for decades—that’s the magic of planting mature.

Structural Elegance: Hornbeam & Lime
Carpinus betulus ‘Fastigiata’ (Fastigiate Hornbeam)
When space is at a premium but you still want height and presence, Carpinus betulus ‘Fastigiata‘ is your answer. We have standard specimens available up to 30-35cm girth—truly impressive trees with that distinctive upright, columnar form. The fresh green spring foliage turns to warm gold in autumn, and the tree holds its dried leaves through winter, providing year-round interest and structure.
Perfect for: Formal avenues, tight urban gardens, or framing entrances where width is limited but impact is essential.
Tilia cordata ‘Erecta’ (Upright Small-Leaved Lime)
Another superb choice for vertical accent is Tilia cordata ‘Erecta’, available in 20-25cm and 25-30cm girth. This lovely upright lime offers dense, heart-shaped foliage and fragrant summer flowers beloved by bees. It’s an excellent choice for Irish gardens, tolerating our clay soils beautifully and providing elegant structure without overwhelming smaller spaces.
The Majesty of Scots Pine
Pinus sylvestris (Scots Pine)
Few trees embody the wild beauty of the Irish landscape quite like Pinus sylvestris. We’re incredibly proud of our current stock—ranging from 3-4 metres right through to magnificent 8-10 metre specimens, all with a clear stem to 160cm. These are trees with real presence, their distinctive orange-red bark and blue-green needles creating year-round interest.
Why choose mature pine? Instant maturity, immediate screening, and that sense of timeless permanence. Our larger specimens are perfect for estate planting, screening, or creating shelter in exposed sites.
Graceful Movement: Aspen
Populus tremula (Aspen)
There’s a reason Populus tremula has captured imaginations for centuries—those trembling leaves catch every breeze, creating movement and sound in the garden. We have specimens available up to 40-45cm girth, offering instant maturity and that characteristic silvery bark. Aspen thrives in Irish conditions and provides stunning golden-yellow autumn colour.
Garden tip: Plant where you can enjoy the sound of rustling leaves—near a seating area or outside a window you often look through.
Spring Spectacle: Magnolia
Magnolia kobus
For pure spring drama, few trees rival Magnolia kobus. We have beautiful specimens at 20-25cm girth, standing 3.4-4 metres tall, priced at €600. These mature trees will reward you with abundant white, star-shaped flowers in early spring, often before the leaves emerge. It’s a sight that marks the true arrival of the growing season.
Worth noting: At this size and maturity, you’ll enjoy a substantial floral display from the very first spring.
Unique Architectural Form
Fagus sylvatica ‘Dawyck Green‘ (Fastigiate Beech)
If you’re after something a little more unique, Fagus sylvatica ‘Dawyck Green‘ offers a striking columnar alternative to common beech. Available in 14-16cm girth, this fastigiate form provides all the beauty of beech—fresh green spring growth, glossy summer foliage, and warm copper tones in autumn—in a narrow, upright habit perfect for formal settings or smaller gardens.
The Beloved Birch
Betula pendula Alba (White Birch)
We’ve had tremendous interest in our birch specimens this season—so much so that our Betula ‘Zwitsers Glory’ has sold out on pre-order. But we have a wonderful alternative: Betula pendula Alba , this classic is whiter than the silver birch, available in superbly mature sizes of 35-40cm and 40-45cm girth. These are fabulously mature specimens standing 6 metres plus, with that iconic white bark and graceful, weeping habit that makes birch such a garden favourite.
Why white birch? It’s quintessentially suited to Irish gardens, thrives in our climate, and provides year-round beauty—from catkins in spring to golden autumn colour and striking white bark in winter.
