Description

This gracefully slender has a dense canopy of delicate lush green foliage that provides great coverage during the growing season. Come autumn, the green leaves turn to a bright yellow, giving a stunning display of colour before they fall in late November. Like most Birch varieties, it has beautifully peeling bark, silver to white in colour, which provides great winter interest and contrast against its surroundings. Long catkins are produced in spring, which hang down from the younger branches before the leaves emerge. It is a fantastic tree for year-round interest, with something different to give for every season. It is very hardy for the Irish climate and can grow in a wide range of soil types and exposures. Height approx 10-12m x Spread 6-8m.
