Description
Tilia cordata Roelvo is a Dutch selection with a regular manner of growth that is more slender than that of the species. The crown is narrow pyramidal at first but broader later. Eventual height can reach to approximately 12 – 15 metres. The trunk is dark brown and grooved and the young twigs are green to reddish brown. The bright green leaves have a heart-shaped base and taper to a point at the top. Cream-yellow scented flowers appear in early summer, growing in short umbels. These are followed by fairly small fruit that are first grey and felt-like and later bare. It’s narrow manner of growth makes ‘Roelvo’ an excellent option for street and avenue planting.
