Description
Rhododendron ‘Scarlet Wonder’ is a dwarf form of Rhododendron, so its leaves and flowers are slightly smaller than what you would expect compared to some other Rhododendron varieties. It has dark green, glossy foliage that remains evergreen throughout the year. In April/May, it bursts into colour as its trumpet-shaped flowers open up, a beautiful bright red in colour. Like other Rhododendrons, it should be planted in ericaceous compost, and will grow best in a semi-shaded area. A very hardy plant that will tolerate cold winters and some exposure, although its flowers will put on the best display if it is in a sheltered site. Max height and spread 1-1.2m.
