Description
This tree is so exciting, a new variety of Evergreen Oak Tree. Quercus rysophylla is an evergreen, strong-growing, spreading tree to 20m tall with elliptic to lance-shaped, wavy-edged leaves to 2cm long and 8cm wide. New, downy leaves emerge in spring and sometimes summer a reddish-purple colour before maturing to a glossy, dark green. Small, ovoid acorns follow with flowers
This is a magnificent size of this very rare tree, currently standing at 6-8m tall with a mature girth of 40-45cm, supplied in an substantial 1000L airpot. Its trunk is cleared to 1.9m, before branching out into the established crown as shown in the photo.
