Malus ‘Schone van Boskoop’ / Fruiting Apple Tree

Description

Malus ‘Schone van Boskoop’ is a variety typically used for cooking as a dessert apple. Its fruits are firm and sour to taste. It should be paired with one or two other apple trees in order to maximise yield. It produces soft-pink flowers in late-April/May, with its apples being suitable for picking by late August/September.

Apple trees can be pruned preferably in late winter after the tree has lost its leaves and gone into dormancy, but can also be done in the spring if required. Yearly prunes are advised to maintain size, improve shape and to maximise productivity and yield.
