This tree has similar foliage to Ligustrum Japonicum and Lucidum with long, pointed leaves green with a gold variegation.
Ligustrum lucidum Excelsum Superbum is considered to be an evergreen specimen and will only lose its leaves in harsh of winters. In the Autumn it flowers with creamy white flowers which are displayed in clusters. It’s is a tough performing tree that will thrive on most soils, although it is best to avoid water logged areas. Like its green counterpart, this Chinese Privet is a good choice for planting as a screening tree or to block an unnecessary view.
This is grown as a standard tree, with a clear stem of around 1.8m and a head above that.
