Your Forsholt shed arrives pressure-treated and ready for decades of service, but a little care ensures it ages gracefully:
Year One: Allow the timber to weather naturally for 6–12 months before applying any additional treatment. The wood needs time to settle and dry.
Ongoing Care: Apply a quality timber preservative or shed treatment every 2–3 years to maintain colour and protection. Clear gutters and roof edges of leaves and debris seasonally.
Ventilation: Prop the door open on dry days to encourage airflow and prevent condensation build-up, especially if storing damp equipment.
Foundation: Ensure your base remains level and well-drained. The optional crushed pebble base with honeycomb matting provides excellent drainage – particularly valuable in Ireland’s wetter months.
Winter Prep: Check roof felt and door seals before winter. A quick inspection in autumn prevents small issues becoming bigger problems.
