Installation:
Mark out the edge line clearly before starting — a string line works well for straight runs and a garden hose for curves. Dig a narrow trench to the required depth, leaving approximately 50mm of the board sitting above ground level for a clean, visible edge. Drive boards firmly into position using a rubber mallet, working along the line and checking regularly for level. For gentle curves, make shallow vertical cuts along the back face of the board to allow it to flex to shape without splitting.

Fixing & Joining:
For longer runs, boards can be butted end to end and secured with timber pegs driven behind the edging at regular intervals — approximately every 900mm — to hold the line firmly in place. Use treated timber pegs to match the edging boards. Pre-drill fixing points at board ends to avoid splitting and ensure a secure, long-lasting joint along the full run.

Maintenance:
Flat topped garden edging requires minimal upkeep beyond the annual treatment. Check fixing pegs periodically and re-drive any that have loosened after cold or wet weather. Re-level any boards that have shifted following ground movement over winter. Running a sharp spade along the outer edge of the board once or twice a year keeps the lawn or border line clean, defined, and looking its best.
