Best position
Camellias are happiest in a sheltered spot with partial shade (morning sun and afternoon shade is ideal). Protect from cold, drying winds and harsh early morning sun in frosty weather.
Soil & planting tips
Plant into moist, free-draining soil that’s acid to neutral. If your garden soil is alkaline, grow in a container with ericaceous compost. Mulch annually with bark or leaf mould to keep roots cool and evenly moist.
