Why you’ll love it

Callistemon laevis brings that sun-soaked, exotic feel that instantly changes the mood of a space. The flowers are its signature — bold, brush-like blooms that look like little fireworks along the stems — but it’s the overall shape that makes it such a good garden plant: evergreen, architectural, and surprisingly easy-going once it’s happy.
It’s a brilliant choice for a large pot on a sunny terrace, or planted in a warm border where you want year-round structure with a proper summer moment.

Caragh Garden Notebook (our growing tips)

Give Callistemon a bright, sheltered position and excellent drainage. It’s happiest where it can build warmth through the season and avoid sitting wet in winter. In colder or more exposed gardens, growing it in a container is often the best approach — you can move it into a protected corner (or a bright, frost-free space) during harsh weather.
Water regularly while it establishes, then it becomes much more tolerant of dry spells. After flowering, a light trim helps keep it neat and can encourage more blooms.
