Description
Astilbe ‘Burgundy Red’ is a herbaceous perennial with glossy, dark-green, ferny leaves. Flower stems rise above the leaves in summer, topped by flower spikes that are burgundy red in colour. The flowers are tiny and closely packed, transforming them into feathery plumes. The flowers can persist for weeks, even after they dry. Astilbe ‘Burgundy Red’ prefers partial shade and well-drained soil that is steadily moist. It blooms well in containers, making it a good choice for summer colour on a deck or patio.
