Description

Caragh Gold Stone is a naturally beautiful quartzite aggregate sourced from County Wicklow. The warm golden tones flecked with cream and honey catch the light in a way that plain grey stone simply doesn’t, making it one of the most popular decorative aggregates in Irish landscaping.

At 10mm, it’s a versatile size. Fine enough to give a clean, finished appearance across driveways and paths, and compact enough to stay put once laid. It works just as well as a decorative layer in borders and beds, around specimen trees, or as a low-maintenance alternative to bark mulch in areas where you want something more permanent.

It’s Irish-quarried, naturally occurring, and built to last. No fading, no maintenance, and it looks as good after ten years as it does the day it goes down.

Caragh Garden Notebook

For driveways, lay over a compacted 804 sub-base with a weed membrane underneath. Aim for a depth of 40–50mm for good coverage and stability. For decorative borders and beds, 30–40mm depth over a weed membrane will suppress growth and retain its appearance. Caragh Gold Stone is free-draining, which makes it a practical as well as decorative choice — particularly in areas prone to puddling or where drainage matters.
