Pair the panels with our planed and ribbed posts, or planed and ribbed ‘H’ posts, and plan your fence line at 180cm intervals to match the panel width. Posts should be 70mm × 70mm minimum and set at least 60cm into the ground — deeper in exposed sites or soft soil — using concrete for maximum stability, or heavy-duty metal post spikes for a quicker job on firm ground. Keep the bottom of each panel 5–10cm above ground level using gravel boards or spacers to prevent rot, and pre-drill screw holes to avoid splitting. The pressure-treated timber can be left to weather naturally to silver-grey, or finished with an exterior wood stain, paint, or preservative before installation for easier coverage — refresh painted or stained panels every 2–3 years. With annual checks of fixings and posts, and trimming climbing plants grown through the lattice, these panels deliver style, privacy, and practicality that will stand up to the Irish weather year after year.
