Description
A new and slightly more compact form of Portuguese Laurel, Prunus lusitanica Brenelia has wavy edged leaves that are deep green and glossy, making this plant look immaculate all year round. This new cultivar also has more burgundy shade of red young stems.
Prunus lusitanica Brenelia is a little slower growing than the usual variety and will grow to approximately 3 metres when mature. Shrubs and untrimmed hedges will produce attractive creamy flower clusters in May and June followed by red fruits that ultimately ripen to purple and are popular with birds.
These lollipop style, quarter standard trees are ideal to mark an entrance, or either side of a door.
