Description
Platanus orientalis ‘Minaret’ is an Oriental Plane tree with large, interesting mid-green leaves that are deeply incised with 5-7 lobes. It is slower growing than the more commonly known Platanus acerifolia (London Plane). Its dense, bushy crown grows in a columnar shape, up to heights of 12-15m with a similar spread. It has the same characteristic trunk of other Plane trees, with the cream, green and brown bark flaking off in plates as it matures. Suitable for growing in a wide range of soil types and tolerant of exposure once established, it’s a fantastic tree for avenue and/or street planting.
