Description
Osmunda regalis is a truly majestic fern — soft, airy and elegant, with a presence that feels almost prehistoric in the best way. Its fresh green fronds unfurl in spring and rise into a tall, graceful clump that brings height and movement to damp borders, woodland gardens and pond edges.
Unlike many ferns, Royal Fern has a lighter, more feathery texture, so it pairs beautifully with hostas, astilbes, rodgersias and moisture-loving perennials. Given the right conditions, it becomes a long-lived, statement plant that only improves with age.
