Description

The Black Mulberry is a deciduous fruiting tree with a broad, spreading habit that produces relatively large, heart-shaped leaves. The insignificant flowers, which are green in colour, develop into small, edible fruits that are dark red-purple in colour. The leaves will turn yellow in autumn before falling for the winter. The fruits can be used in jams, jellies and even wines, and should only be picked when fully ripe. Slow growing to 6-8m in height, with a similar spread.
