Description

Elaeagnus ebb. ‘Lightlight’ produces tough, oval-shaped foliage that is light-green in colour with a yellow centre. The underside of the leaf is a shimmery-silver in colour. Small flowers are produced in late autumn, creamy in colour and with a strong fragrance. These flowers develop into purple-red berries in the spring. It is a great hedging option for coastal areas, as, once established, it has a high drought-tolerance and is able to withstand coastal winds and salty air conditions. Its bright, variegated foliage would look great in containers, or planted amongst other shrubs in mixed borders or raised beds. Max height approx 2-3m with a spread of about 2m.
