Description

Extremely heavy-duty fencing, built for high-wind areas and perimeter boundaries  pressure treated in a bronze finish and ready to fit. Manufactured in our in-house timber workshop.

Why Choose Closeboard Fence Panels?

When a standard panel isn’t heavy-duty enough, this is the panel you need. Closeboard  also known as featheredge  panels are extremely heavy duty garden fence panels, ideal for high-wind areas or as a proper perimeter fence. Each panel is built from overlapping featheredge boards, giving continuous, interlocking coverage that stands up to the weather load that lighter panels can’t take.

Key benefits
– Extremely heavy duty — built for high-wind areas and perimeter fencing
– Feather edge boards overlap for continuous, weather-resisting coverage
– Pressure treated in a bronze finish — no treatment needed before fitting
– Strong rear supporting rails for real structural integrity
– Made to 180cm wide as standard, in a range of heights
– Manufactured in our in-house timber workshop

What Makes These Panels Different from Standard Fencing?

Closeboard is the heavy-duty end of the fence panel market. Where lap or waney edge panels are built for ordinary gardens, closeboard panels are built for exposed sites and proper perimeter boundaries — the featheredge boards overlap to form a solid, wind-resisting face, and the rear rails tie the whole panel together for real strength.

They’re also made properly. Each panel is pressure treated in a bronze finish so it arrives ready to fit, with the featheredge boards and rear rails built to specification in our own in-house timber workshop — not bought in, not cut to compromise. And if you’re building a boundary where both sides need to look right, the featheredge overlap handles the job with clean, dependable lines.

Closeboard Panels for Irish Gardens

Built in our own workshop and delivered locally, these panels are made for the conditions Irish gardens face  wind, rain, and the exposure that tests a fence every winter. We supply close board panels nationwide across the island of Ireland from Dublin and the Greater Dublin Area, to Kildare, Wicklow, Meath, and our team can confirm availability and delivery to your county or postcode.

Which Fence Panel Is Right for My Garden?

– High-wind or exposed gardens: closeboard panels are the heavy-duty choice built for the wind load.
– Perimeter and boundary fencing: proper perimeter-grade panels where reliability matters.
– Neighbouring a field or open ground: the overlapping featheredge boards stand up to sustained exposure.
– A permanent, long-term boundary: heavy-duty construction that protects its investment for years.

Caragh’s Garden Notebook

Closeboard is the panel you choose when a standard fence isn’t going to be enough — exposed site, open boundary, or simply a garden that deserves a proper perimeter fence. The overlapping featheredge boards give continuous coverage with no gaps for the wind to get behind, and the rear rails tie the whole panel together with real strength. Because the panels arrive pressure treated in a bronze finish, they’re ready to fit from the moment they arrive — no treatment needed before installation. Set the posts in concrete, keep the panels clear of ground contact on gravel boards, and a closeboard run will stand firm through the windiest Irish winters for years to come. And because we manufacture them ourselves in our in-house timber workshop, you’re getting consistent quality, locally made. If you’re in our delivery zone we’ll deliver to your door; if you’re just outside it, call us — we’ll do our best to help.
