Description
From Our Nursery Park, here we have 2 specimen Standard Upright Hornbeam. The first, more mature specimen, has a clear trunk measuring 2m with 30-35cm in girth, and an overall current height of 5-6m. The second option is slightly less mature but still just as impressive – with a 2m clear stem, 25-30cm in girth and an overall height of 4-4.5m.
This upright or Fastigiate hornbeam makes a superb specimen tree with its tidy upright head, it requires clipping once a year in mid- to late summer to keep it looking tidy. Green catkins appear in spring and winged nuts develop in autumn.
This tree works really well as an avenue tree along a driveway with its upright habit. A really popular stately looking tree.
