Description
Alnus incana ‘aurea’, or golden Alder is a small to medium sized conical tree of about 10 meters at maturity. Tolerates most soil types including water logged. Will do well in shade or full sun, however the leaves are more vibrant in sunnier spots. With striking yellow/green leaves, they produce a catkin in summer followed by a cone like fruit which stays remains into the winter. An orange brown stem and young twigs ranging from yellow to orange, it is a perfect specimen tree for year round interest
