Description
Soft lilac blue flowers in long dense racemes of numerous blooms. Very floriferous. Young foliage pale green maturing green, turning yellow in autumn. Ht 4m. Flowers in May and Jun. Needs a sunny position for the best blooms and good deep fertile soil. Lightly prune long wispy growth in July/ Aug, then prune again Jan/ Feb back to 2 or 3 buds.
This one has been grown as a very unusual standard tree with a 2m clear stem, really strong trunk of 25-30cm girth and then a roof frame of these stunning flowers a real showstopper of a tree that, planted in the right position, won’t disappoint year after year.
