Erica x darleyensis is a cross between Erica carnea x Erica erigena. It is a low-growing, evergreen shrub with fine, needle-like foliage in medium green. Growth habit is bushy and height is usually 1 foot tall. Flowers can appear between autumn and mid spring, are urn-shaped, and come in white to rosy pink. This is a hardy heather that tolerates heat and cold as well as neutral soils. Heathers require good drainage, preferably sandy soil with organic matter, such as peat moss, and most like acidic soil. They rarely require fertilising; good compost is usually sufficient.
