Cornus kousa Satomi




Satomi’ is an upright, spreading, pink-floweredvariety that typically matures to 3-4metres tall. In its mature form it features attractive horizontal branching. Flower bracts vary in colour from light pink to deep pink to rose pink depending on its position in the garden and how good the year has been. Abundant flowering occurs in June. Deep green foliage turns attractive shades of red in autumn.

It requires a sunny position in the shelter of other trees and shrubs is best. They will grow happily in semi shade but their flower production and colour will not be as intense.
