As Garden Designers we design gardens for home owners and businesses across Ireland both North and South of the Border on a regular basis. Each design is different, some have similar elements based on that they have requirements that are matching but each one is individual and we like to cast a different feel over every garden we create although I do believe that most garden designers have a style and that style grows and changes over time but that I could recognise most designers work relatively easily.
Your needs as a person or as a family will determine the form your garden take on and we like to work with you to find what works for you and maybe something you hadn’t thought of, think of us as Dermot Bannon, for your garden. We plan the garden out and come up with a plan and a costing for your design and we work with you to ensure that the garden you get is more than you imagined you needed. Like Mr Bannon in the Room to improve we look at light, space and colour as well as framing views and hiding ones you had rather not look out at. We look at the constraints of the project in terms of space, light, the elements and the all important budget and we work within your constraints with you.
Our input into your garden, unlike the televisions show, can be as little or as much as you require. We can provide and simple design service, advising you on your garden, how to make the most of it and preparing a written Plan and price for that, as well as putting you in touch under our guidance with the relevant hard landscapers, tree surgeons, electricians or any other service that goes to making your garden the masterpiece that you want. A service like that is as low as €200 + vat. We have a drawing service so you can see your garden plan in front of you to to really get to grips with what you want, providing visual imagery, a kind of mood board for your garden that also gives you the opportunity to work in stages on the plan.
Being a nursery the practicalities of your garden are always foremost in our thoughts, how much maintenance you can afford to your garden and if the garden will work for you long term not just now. Unlike a kitchen or an extension a garden is living and will grow with you, will that fit in with what you will need 10 years from now or more. We have been lucky to have designed and planted some amazing gardens over the years and we love that we can see those gardens as they mature. As a husband and wife team we both add elements to the design, Ian is usually the first person on site as he has the detail in the garden just right, he knows the measurements usually but just looking at them, he can really think outside the box in terms of what will work and more importantly what won’t. As I mentioned there are usually views that you like and lots that you want to hide and he can see instantly what will work to hide that new apartment block or a neighbouring window for privacy, we then sit down with his ideas and come up with a design, we both add the different aspects, it works really well for us and we believe that our design ideas compliment each other.
A garden should be the place you go to for comfort, to entertain, an extension of your home, another element of it and should compliment each other and we hope that we can give you all these things. We then get down to the planting of the garden and we can project manage the entire garden build if you require and in the case of most of our commercial and hospitality gardens this would normally be the case. We have worked with some fantastic hotels and restaurants and we have not only given them amazing gardens but we have added value to their spaces, looking at how the gardens can be used to make the most of the spaces either inspiring people to dine outside or adding intimate spaces for parties or gatherings all that go to increasing revenue.
